Terms of use
Last updated : 1 October 2026
Welcome to ChinaPay. These terms of use (the "Terms") govern your use of the ChinaPay mobile app and related services (the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you accept these Terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the Service.
1. The Service
ChinaPay is an intermediation service that lets you:
• from Burkina Faso, have a supplier in China paid in yuan (RMB) or US dollars (USD), by paying the equivalent in CFA francs (FCFA);
• from China, have CFA francs delivered to a recipient in Burkina Faso, in cash or to an Orange Money account, by paying in yuan.
Money does not flow through the app. You make the payment yourself using the indicated method (Orange Money USSD code or ChinaPay's Alipay QR code), then upload the payment proof in the app. ChinaPay checks your payment before carrying out the transfer.
2. Account
You access the Service with a Google account. You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into a contract. You are responsible for the security of your Google account and for all operations carried out from your ChinaPay account. Tell us immediately about any unauthorised use.
3. Rates, amounts and fees
The applicable exchange rate is shown in the app before each transfer. The total amount to pay in FCFA (or the amount received in FCFA for transfers from China) is calculated when you submit the transfer and then stays fixed, even if the rate changes.
ChinaPay does not charge any service fee on top of the amount shown. Any fees charged by your provider (Orange Money, Alipay, bank) remain your responsibility.
A minimum amount may apply to some transfers, especially in dollars; it is shown in the app.
4. Your commitments
You agree to:
• provide accurate and complete information (beneficiary name, numbers, amounts);
• upload only genuine documents (supplier QR code or invoice, payment proof);
• pay the exact amount shown, using the method shown;
• use the Service only for lawful operations, in compliance with the laws of Burkina Faso and China and applicable foreign exchange regulations;
• not use the Service for money laundering, financing illegal activities or fraud.
ChinaPay may ask for additional information or documents (identity, source of funds, nature of the operation) before carrying out a transfer.
5. Processing transfers
After submission, your transfer goes through the steps "Pending", "Processing" and then "Completed". Timeframes shown in the app (usually 2 to 6 business hours after payment verification) are indicative.
ChinaPay may reject or suspend a transfer in particular if: the payment proof is unreadable, incomplete or does not match; the payment has not been received; the beneficiary details are wrong; the operation appears fraudulent or unlawful. The reason for rejection is shown in the app. If a transfer is rejected, amounts actually received by ChinaPay are refunded to you, minus any provider fees, after verification.
Once the beneficiary has been paid, ChinaPay uploads a proof of payment that you can view in your history. A completed transfer can no longer be cancelled. ChinaPay is not liable for errors resulting from inaccurate information you provided (wrong beneficiary, wrong number, wrong QR code).
6. Suspension and blocking
ChinaPay may suspend or block your account if these Terms are breached, in case of fraud or attempted fraud, or at the request of a competent authority. A blocked account can no longer submit transfers; transfers already in progress are processed or refunded under the rules above.
7. Liability
ChinaPay undertakes to process your transfers with care and diligence. ChinaPay cannot be held liable for delays or failures caused by third parties (payment providers, banks, telecom networks, suppliers), force majeure or temporary interruptions of the Service for maintenance. The Service is provided "as is"; we do our best to keep it available at all times, without guaranteeing it.
8. Communications
With your consent, we send you notifications about the progress of your transfers and announcements about the Service. You can turn off notifications at any time in your profile or in your phone settings.
9. Personal data
How we handle your data is described in our Privacy Policy, available in the app and at https://chinap.me/politique-confidentialite?lang=en.
10. Deleting your account
You can request the deletion of your account and data at any time at https://chinap.me/suppression-donnees or through support. Some information relating to completed transfers may be kept for the period required by law.
11. Changes to the Terms
We may change these Terms. The date of the last update appears at the top of the document. If there is a significant change, you will be informed in the app. Continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept the new Terms.
12. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the law of Burkina Faso. If there is a problem, please contact support first: we will look for an amicable solution. Failing that, the dispute will be brought before the competent courts of Ouagadougou.
13. Contact
For any question: the "Support" tab of the app (WhatsApp, phone, email) or https://chinap.me.
