Privacy policy

This policy explains what personal data ChinaPay collects when you use the ChinaPay mobile app and the chinap.me website, why, who it is shared with and what your rights are.
1. Data controller
The data controller is ChinaPay. For any question about your data: the "Support" tab of the app, or https://chinap.me.
2. Data we collect
• Account: name, email address and profile photo provided by Google when you sign in; your chosen language; the date you accepted the terms of use.
• Transfers: transfer type and amount, applied rate, beneficiary or supplier name, recipient phone number and Orange Money account name, delivery method, any note, dates and status.
• Documents: files you upload (supplier QR code or invoice, payment proof) and proofs of payment uploaded by ChinaPay.
• Notifications: a technical identifier of your phone used to send notifications (Expo token) and the device type (Android or iOS), if you turned notifications on.
• Usage: sign-in dates and actions taken in the app (for example "transfer submitted"), for security and support purposes.
• Deletion requests: the email, name, phone and reason entered on https://chinap.me/suppression-donnees.
We do not collect your Google credentials (password), your Orange Money codes or your bank details. We do not access your contacts or your location.
3. Why we use your data
• To create and manage your account (performance of the contract).
• To process your transfers: verify your payment, pay the beneficiary, send you the proof of payment (performance of the contract).
• To keep you informed about your transfers and Service announcements (your consent, for notifications).
• To prevent fraud, secure the Service and meet legal obligations, including anti-money-laundering rules (legal obligation and legitimate interest).
• To assist you when you contact support (legitimate interest).
Your data is not sold and is not used for targeted advertising.
4. Who can access your data
• Authorised ChinaPay team members (administrators and agents), each with only the permissions their role requires, with a log of actions.
• Our technical providers acting on our behalf: Supabase (database and file hosting, servers located in the European Union), Google (sign-in), Expo and Apple's and Google's notification services (sending notifications), our web host.
• People needed to carry out a transfer (for example the supplier or recipient, for the name and amount).
• Competent authorities, where required by law.
Some of this data may be stored or processed outside Burkina Faso; we choose providers that offer appropriate security safeguards.
5. How long we keep data
• Account: as long as your account is active.
• Transfers and related documents: for the period required by applicable financial and commercial regulations, then deleted or anonymised.
• Notification tokens: until you turn notifications off or sign out.
• Sign-in and activity logs: up to 12 months, unless the law requires otherwise.
• Deletion requests: for as long as needed to process them and keep a record.
6. Security
Your documents are stored in a private space and are only accessible to you and to authorised ChinaPay staff, through temporary links. Communications are encrypted (HTTPS). Team access is limited by individual permissions and logged.
7. Your rights
Under Burkina Faso's law on the protection of personal data, you can request access to your data, its correction or deletion, or object to certain processing. You can withdraw your consent to notifications at any time from your profile.

We reply within 30 days at most. You can also contact the competent data protection authority in Burkina Faso, the Commission de l'Informatique et des Libertés (CIL).
8. Minors
The Service is reserved for people aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data about minors.
9. Changes
We may update this policy. The date of the last update appears at the top of the document; if there is a significant change, you will be informed in the app.
